Recipe:
- Prepare the green beans: Start by trimming the ends of the green beans. Cut them into smaller pieces of similar size to ensure they cook evenly.
- Chop the onions: Peel and thinly slice the onions. You can adjust the amount of onions according to your preference.
- Cook the onions: Add a little olive oil to a pan over high heat (if your pan is already oiled, you can use less). Add the onions, a pinch of salt, and some pepper. Cook until the onions turn a golden color.
- Add water: Once the onions are golden, add half a glass of water. Let them cook on high heat for a few more minutes until the water evaporates and the onions become soft.
- Optional step: If you like a tangy flavor, add a small splash of vinegar or balsamic vinegar for a sour taste. This is optional and can be skipped if you prefer.
- Cook the green beans: Fill a pot with enough water to cover the green beans completely. Turn on the stove to high heat, cover the pot with a lid, and let the beans cook for 20 minutes.
- Combine: After 20 minutes, drain the water and transfer the green beans to the pan with the onions. Mix everything together.
