Recipe:

  1. Prepare the potatoes: Start by peeling the potatoes and cutting them into evenly sized cubes to ensure even cooking. Wash the potato cubes under water. Peel three cloves of garlic for later use.
  2. Cook the garlic: Heat a pan over medium heat. Add a generous amount of olive oil, the garlic, and if you have it, some rosemary for added flavor. Cook the garlic until it turns a golden color.
  3. Add the potatoes: Once the garlic is golden, add the potato cubes to the pan. Stir them regularly to prevent sticking, and cover the pan with a lid. The potatoes will cook for about 20 minutes. Add salt and pepper early on.
  4. Finish cooking: After 5 minutes, add a little more olive oil, close the lid again, and shake the pan every 2 minutes to evenly cook the potatoes. Continue until they form a crispy, golden crust.
  5. Final touches: When the potatoes have a nice crust, turn off the heat, add a final sprinkle of salt, and your dish is ready to serve.
